I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8 year-old again. I want to go to McDonald’s and think that it’s a four star restaurant.

I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make a sidewalk with rocks.
I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them.

I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer’s day.

I want to return to a time when life was simple, when all you knew were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes, but that didn´t bother you, because you didn’t know what you didn’t know and you didn’t care.

All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.

I want to think the world is fair AGAIN !!!

That everyone is honest and good.. AGAIN

I want to believe that anything is possible. I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things.

I want to live simple again.

I don´t want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and making angels in the snow.
So . . . here’s my checkbook and my car keys, my credit card bills and my BANK statements.

I am officially resigning from adulthood. And if you want to discuss this further, you´ll have to catch me first, cause…….

"Tag! You´re it."

Pass this to someone and brighten their day by helping them remember the Simple Things in Life…..LIKE ME : )))

  1. All I can say is………WOW………this surely hit home for me.  I know! Let\’s run off and do just that :-)…..wouldn\’t that be heavenly?  I want to apologize for being such a slacker in the visiting department, it seems my head is so full with trying to figure out what to do next with my situation.  Simply………I\’m tired and I just want my home and my little family back.  I don\’t so much regret taking him in and trying to help, I\’m more disappointed in how he chose to receive it.  Thank you so much for your kind words Rose, and for not giving up on me and visiting 🙂 I shall try harder to get by more often ~hugs~
P.S.  As I sit here my daughter is in the other room, playing "Foolish Games" by Jewel on the piano…….so so soothing for my soul, wish you could hear it.

  2. Wendy, I consider myself extremely fortunate in that I resigned my adulthood over 5 years ago now, and life is good again.
Very, very good. Magical even, sometimes…
It\’s a great way to live – I can heartily recommend it.

  3. Hmmm–this suspiciously looks like something that showed up in my inbox!  😀  It was fun to see it again though.  😀
Look at the time on this comment–can you tell I thought I was in labor a half hour ago??  lol  SOON!  Soon.

  4. Wendy:
Its been my experience that while you have to grow older you don\’t have to grow up. I\’m 54 years old but last year I fell out of a tree that I clinbed just for the heck of it. It is clear to me just by your space that you also have remained young at heart. don\’t give up your adulthood, just use it as if you were still a kid. A kid can\’t spike it lemonade or see the woods at midnight but an person posing as an adult can. Remember where you\’ve been, enjoy where you are and anticapate where you are going.
    Merry Christmas,

  5. Hey Chica,
What\’s with all the pictures of clouds on your weather report?!?!  Yuk!
Just stopped in to say hello~

  6. Amen to that!  I\’m bringing my inner child over to play….be right back!  BTW…it\’s Nadine\’s fault that you\’ve got Michael Jackson stuck in your head.  She did it to me too!  Oy!

  7. I quit too!  First and foremost "I want to live simple again" 🙂
Did you get that table top tree yet?

  8. I\’ll meet you at the slide of the McDonalds Play Room, \’k?!!!

  9. LOL….very good!!  I quit too!!  Being a grown-up sucks big time!!

  10. I am so sorry to tell Tom\’s blogers and friends, King Tom death\’s cause is heart diease, the news came from his niece, I asked for her yesterday, here is her answer:
We found out 3 days ago that tom died of a bad heart.  There was not enough oxygen going into his heart.  It is called heart diease.  Tom was having chest pains but he thought it was his stomach
and didnt go to the doctor about his heart.
