What’s in Hamburg?

Well they host the second largest county fair in North America http://www.americas-fair.com/

They have an interesting history complete with indians and $5.00 bounties on wolf hides http://www.townofhamburgny.com/about_the_town.asp

What about that homemade ice cream Charlap’s Ice Cream

The Penny Saver is still delivered http://www.pennysavers.com/

There are four elementary schools and one Junior High School and one Senior High School (I attended Hamburg High for one year- was on the gymnastic team)

The surrounding areas:

Minutes away from Hamburg, you have Canada and Niagara Falls to the North; winery tours, Amish Country and the Chautauqua Institute http://www.chautauqua-inst.org/ (very cool place) to the South; ski resorts and amusement parks to the East and over 9,000 square miles of fishing, boating and water sports to the west.

Residents find employment in industrial and service industries within the Town and Metropolitan Buffalo. Police and fire protection, along with highway, sanitation, recreation, sewage services and facilities, are provided for the area by the Town or special districts under the supervision of the Town Board. The Villages of Blasdell and Hamburg are contained within the Town’s boundaries.

The Buffalo Niagara International Airport is only a 20 minute drive from Hamburg, on the New York State Thruway.

The architecture is spectacular http://ah.phpwebhosting.com/a/HAMB.html

Don’t forget the food – chicken wings and beef on wek – ummmm

And of course, the King will be there. Hail to the King!

So I guess Hamburg is a pretty cool place to be from after all.
